It is with deep regret that Event organisers, Ponteland Rugby Club, announce the cancellation of the rearranged annual Ponteland Beer Festival.
As you are aware, following the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic earlier this year, the event was rescheduled from its usual April staging, to the weekend of 30th October.
Whilst the ongoing social distancing and group gathering rules have continued to be monitored, the recent announcement by Northumberland County Council of the delay in the opening of the new schools and Leisure facilities, on the adjoining land, at Callerton Lane, from September, to 2nd November, has meant it will be completely impractical to host the Festival on the preceding weekend, and so the event has been forced to be cancelled.
The Festival represents the main fundraising effort for Ponteland Rugby Club, and its cancellation has dealt a devastating blow to the Club, wiping out its principal income source for the year, as well as incurring abortive costs, on not just one, but two occasions.
On a more positive note, the dates for the 2021 Ponteland Beer Festival have now been confirmed as Friday 9th through to Sunday 11th April. All of the pre-booked Musical Entertainment for 2020, as well as our principal suppliers have already confirmed their availability.
We were grateful that following the initial postponement of the April event, the vast majority of pre-sold tickets for April, were retained by our loyal supporters, for use in October. We can confirm that all pre sold tickets, can now be transferred and will be accepted at the 2021 Festival. Our previous offer of an extra 4th drinks token upon admission, with these tickets, will still apply in 2021, as well as the fact that by using your existing ticket, this price protects you from any ticket price increase next year.
No further action is therefore required at this stage other than if any ticket holders wish to seek a refund, thenplease email us at firstname.lastname@example.org quoting your reference number and this will be processed.
We do hope to see you in 2021 and in the meantime pass on our best wishes to you all to remain safe and well.
Again running to an extended third day, with the addition of Family Sunday, there will be over 150 real ales, lagers and ciders from a selection of local and national brewers to choose from.
There will also be our very popular Prosecco and Wine Bar, together with Soft Drinks on sale and a Gin Bar offering a selection of artisan gins with Fentimans providing the soft drinks and mixers.
While there's no doubt that your thirst will be well taken care of, you'll be able to satisfy your hunger too.
This year, we have a terrific choice of Street Foods on sale supplied by Angel Street Food and Toro.
Restaurant quality in a box and extremely good value.
Another terrific line-up will perform over the weekend including new performers Folk Soul Brothers, Union Street, Maverick Rejects, Redwings and Bay 6. There will be a Rugby Tournament on Saturday afternoon on the adjacent pitch.
On Sunday there will be fun for all the family including a Fun Fair and Junior Rugby Festival as well as music from Ponteland Community Band, Ponteland Rock Choir, and the Hound Cats.

You are not permitted to bring your own food or alcoholic beverages into the festival. All purchases of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks must be made with tokens (except bottles of water) as follows:

For the 2020 Festival, we will again be accepting token purchases by credit/Debit card , as well as purchases by cash. Tokens will be available at all times for purchase at the Token Table.
Minimum purchase of 3 Tokens - £5.00
No alcoholic drinks will be served to anyone appearing to be under 18 years of age unless proof of age
can be produced. No alcoholic drinks will be served to anyone suspected of being drunk or to anyone
attempting to purchase for persons suspected of being drunk.
Please help us to keep the site clean and tidy by using the litter bins/facilities provided. Accompanied children under 18 will be allowed inside the Marquee until 6.00 pm on Saturday and all day Sunday .No children under 18 will be allowed entry after 6.00 pm.
Please do not bring dogs inside the Marquee. The Marquee is a NO SMOKING AREA.
